Destin City Councilwoman Prebble Ramswell charged with battery on LEO and obstruction

DESTIN — Destin City Councilwoman Prebble Ramswell was arrested Friday afternoon, according to the State Attorney's Office.

According to a spokesperson for the State Attorney's Office, Ramswell was arrested during the execution of a search warrant.

She has been charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and obstruction. The obstruction charge stems from Ramswell allegedly impeding the execution of the search warrant.

At this time, the State Attorney's Office has released no additional details about the reason for the search.

Prebble Ramswell, a Destin City Councilwoman, was arrested Friday evening, according to the State Attorney's Office.

As of 10 a.m. Saturday, Okaloosa County Jail booking logs did not reflect the arrest.

Ramswell has served on the council since 2014. Her current four-year term expires in 2022.
