LETTER: Cleaning up the beach junkyard

Every morning we spend thousands of dollars to have the beach cleaned of debris left overnight. I can’t even imagine passing a law that would make it legal to leave tents, chairs, coolers, etc., overnight.
Not only is leaving those things on the beach very dangerous, but we have unexpected high winds, high surf and pop-up thunderstorms that would cause havoc for beachfront owners to clean up and taxpayers to pay for having to remove the items from the water and dispose of them.
Our beaches are award-winning, beautiful and clean. Let’s not turn them into another junkyard.
