Letter: Tuscany Restaurant commended

Friday, Feb. 27, Army Chief Warrant Officer 3 Romulo “Romy” Camargo was retired from the Army. Camargo, a member of the Army 7th Special Forces Green Beret, was hit by a sniper while serving in Afghanistan in 2008 and is paralyzed.
I was privileged and honored to attend a dinner held in his honor at the Tuscany Restaurant in Destin. The dinner was attended by approximately 100 members and former members of his unit and their families. Attendees came from all parts of the country. Mr. and Mrs. Scott Stovert, who I sat next to, came all the way from Cheyenne, Wyo.
When dinner was over and we offered to pay our bill, Guglielmo, Tuscany’s owner, told us that the one drink each and all dinners were on the house. Guglielmo and the Tuscany are to be commended for such a benevolent act and are surely patriots.
Destin should be proud to have such residents in our community.
