2 local beaches named as little-known winter vacation spots

Two local beaches have been named in online travel booking site Fodor’s Travel’s article, “11 Under-the-radar Florida Beach Towns to Visit this Winter.”

Santa Rosa Beach and Navarre Beach were both noted as under-the-radar vacation spots for the traditional shoulder season winter months.

The article touts Santa Rosa Beach as more “mellow and classy,” than its neighboring Panama City Beach, and mentions WaterColor Inn & Resort, Hibiscus Coffee & Guesthouse and Stinky’s Fish Camp as places to check out while vacationing in the area.

“Watching the sunset is the only thing on most people’s schedule,” the article reads, “along with a seafood feast at one of a handful of atmospheric restaurants.”

As for Navarre Beach, Fodor’s mentions Spring Hill Suites Navarre Beach as an affordable accommodation option and encourages visitors to experience Navarre Beach Sea Turtle Conservation Center and Adventures Unlimited in Milton.

“If clear blue waters for swimming and sugar sand beaches with very few crowds are the Florida vacation ingredients most important to you, you won’t be disappointed here,” the article states.
