Fall Championship Pro-Am hits the links at Indian Bayou

Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation is hosting its inaugural Golf Tournament Fore Kids! on Giving Tuesday at the Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club to raise money for 12 local charities.

The Emerald Coast Golf Tour Fall Championship Pro-Am is set Nov. 1-4 at Indian Bayou Golf and Country Club in Destin.

Pro-Am teams will consist of three amateurs and one professional. The two best net balls of the team will count for the team score hole. The professional will play out his own ball and his score will count if it is lower than one of the two lowest net amateur scores.

Entry fee for the event is $185 for amateurs, and $155 for Indian Bayou members. Member professionals are $625 and $795 for non-member professionals. First prize guarantee for the professional event is $8,000.

Amateurs will receive 80 percent of their USGA handicaps with no player receiving more than 21 handicap strokes. The team’s official scorecard will be kept by the professional.

Practice rounds will begin on Nov. 1. Call Indian Bayou pro shop for times at 837-6191.

The Pro-Sponsor shootout will be at 2:15 on Thursday with kickoff party for all at McGuire’s Irish Pub.

The first round of the Pro-Am will tee off at 9 a.m. Friday. Friday night a Pro-Am party will be held at Tuscany Italian Grill with a charity auction for Ronald McDonald House of NWFL.

Saturday is the second round of the Pro-Am with an awards presentation in the clubhouse at Indian Bayou.

The final professional round will tee up Sunday with the top three amateurs also playing in the final round. Awards presentation will follow in the clubhouse.

Former Emerald Coast Golf Tour players include Heath Slocum, Boo Weekley, Joe Durant, Ben Bates, Bubba Watson, Craig Perks, George McNeil, Brian Gay and Mike Heinen.
