Volleyball exhibition set for Saturday
The Northwest Florida Volleyball Exhibition is set for 6-9 p.m., April 13 at South Walton High School.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for the free event.
International professionals, NCAA champions and NAIA champions will battle it out on the volleyball court for championship titles.
Spectators will have a chance to not only see elite athletes compete on the court, but also have an opportunity to interact with the pros before and after the event.
South Walton High School coaches Andrew Hock and Michael Emerick have spearheaded this project to bring talent to the local Walton County area.
"People will be surprised by how high the skill level is because they have never seen it before. I really hope this shows young players in the area that volleyball can be pursued much further than the high school level," said event director Andrew Hock. "I want volleyball to be as popular as any other sport in both women's and men's. This is a good first step in that direction."
The Northwest Florida Volleyball Exhibition's purpose is to promote the high level game of volleyball to the areas surrounding Destin, Santa Rosa Beach and Panama City.
