Gulf Coast Bulldogs take bite out of Prestige


Ishmael Skylark tossed in 17 points to lead Gulf Coast Bulldogs in a 66-52 win over Prestige Worldwide in the 17-plus Adult Basketball League at the Destin Community Center.

Skylark made eight twos and one from the free-throw line.

At the half, the Bulldogs led by 11 points.

Xavier Jones scored 11 points for the Bulldogs, while Rusty Moorer knocked down three 3s for nine points.

Clint Leopold fired up the nets for five 3s on his way to 19 points for Prestige. Donald Kirkwood scored 12 points, including two 3s, and Jeremy Whittenburg scored 10 points.

• Old Bay Steamer 52, Old Timers 52 (OT tie)

Old Timers led 21-14 at the half. At the end of regulation the game was knotted at 48-48. Both teams scored four points in overtime for a deadlock.

Corey Chaplin led Old Bay with four 3s en route to 16 points. Chris Wade hit two 3s on his way to 12 points, and Anthony Lanier contributed 10 points.

Alvie Parris scored 16 points for Old Timers. Erik Fordyce made 14 points, and Ryan Legions hit one trey en route to six points.

• FWB Bulls 59, Gulf Coast Bulldogs 55

The Bulls led by one point at the half.

Sherman Cain drilled four 3s on his way to 23 points for the Bulls. Tivo Wooson scored 14 points, including one 3-pointer, and Magic Hall chipped in eight points.

Ishamael Skylark tossed in four 3s en route to 19 points for the Bulldogs. Xavier Jones scored 15 points, and Djuan Gay tossed in eight points.
