Chupacabras devour DWC 850 for championship

Chupacabras took the Coed Division III title.

Adam Mooney knocked in six runs to lead Chupacabras in a 29-15 win over Destiny Worship Center 850 in the title game of the Coed Division III softball tournament at Morgan Sports Center.

Mooney belted a triple, double and three singles for six RBIs.

Chupacabras led 5-2 at the end of two innings. In the third, Chupacabras exploded for 10 runs and a 15-6 advantage.

Jen Elmore ripped a homer, hit three doubles and a single for five RBIs for Chupacabras. Lance Buck hit three singles.

Amy Holt connected for two doubles and two singles for DWC 850. Steve Wright homered, doubled and singled for two RBIs, and Tammy Wright hit three singles for an RBI.

• Chupacabras 8, Florida Septic and Sewer 7

Chupacabras led 7-1 at the end of three innings and held on for the win.

Brent Hicks cranked out a home run, double and a single for an RBI for Chupacabras. Nick Noonenmann tripled and doubled, and Nyna Grossman hit two singles.

Todd Schrag doubled and hit two singles for an RBI for Florida Septic. Chris Edmondson tripled and singled and Angie Coteat singled.

Destiny led 16-7 at the end of three innings.

Kim Davis was top for Destiny with a triple, double and a single for four RBIs. Tammy Wright hit three singles, and Steven Kertz hit three singles for two RBIs.

Shardae Hernandez tripled, hit two doubles and a single for two RBIs for Lucky's. Courtney Baggett hit four singles for an RBI, and Steven Hopkins tripled and hit two singles for an RBI.
