Destin Dog Park Wag n Walk and 5K Run

More than 150 runners, some with dogs on a leash, turned out for the first-ever Destin Dog Park Wag n Walk and 5K Run over the weekend.

The first runner with a dog to cross the finish line was Justin Manganan with his dog Lily, who finished the 5K in 20 minutes and 27 seconds.

Rebecca Davis with her dog Duke was the first female to finish at 23:36.

The Female Masters winner was Ava Suydan with her dog Luther who finished at 26:43. Luis Gallego with his dog Rusty was the Male Masters winner at 22:56.

Runners without dogs were led by Javier Marquez who finished the route at 18:29. Lauren Kramis was the first female in at 22:29. Master winners were Bob Walker at 19:35 and Caroline Levesque at 25:29.

Overall walking winners were Valerie Hein, 35:23 and Paul Sims, 36:33. Master winners were Aimee Shaffer, 43:23 and James McLean, 48:06.

 Winners in the walking division with dogs were Matthew Sabatino and his dog Kona, 31:47, and Bethany Schilling with Sedona, 36:27. Master winners with dogs were Pete Wilson with Leslie at 46:54; and Joe Lowery and Reggie, 50:12.
