D-Unit downs Rocky Bayou Baptist

David Shoults knocked in four runs to lead D-Unit in a 26-19 win over Rocky Bayou Baptist in the Church Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Shoult connected for four singles resulting in four RBIs.

In the first two innings, D-Unit took a 14-8 lead.

Eric Leurinda hit four singles for three RBIs for D-Unit and Jake Pugh doubled and hit three singles for two RBIs. Brett Ochsenreiter belted a solo home run in the seventh.

Terry Smith doubled and hit three singles for Rocky for two RBIs. Joe Feltner hit three singles for five RBIs and James Speegle hit three singles for three RBIs. Travis Cook hit a three-run homer in the first inning.

• Iron Men 16, D-Unit 12

Iron Men finished strong with eight runs in the sixth inning.

Chris Poole batted the cycle for Iron Men with three RBIs. Harry Mandel tripled and hit two singles for two RBIs, and Jesse Hart doubled and hit two singles for three RBIs. Justin Chaknis hit a two-run homer in the sixth, and Josh Little pounded on out in the fifth.

Kyle Andre was the big stick for D-Unit with a homer and four singles for an RBI. Andrew Locicero doubled and hit three singles for an RBI, and Brantley Willis doubled and singled for two RBIs.

• DUMC 20, Rocky Bayou Baptist 17

At the end of three innings, the game was tied at 9-9. DUMC got the upper hand in the fifth with seven runs.

Brandon Patzig knocked in five runs for DUMC on two homer and two doubles. John Clark hit two triples and two singles for two RBIs, and Drew Pinckley homered and hit two singles for two RBIs.

Dan Wilcoxen belted two home runs, a double and a single for five RBIs for Rocky. Codey Friesen homered, doubled and hit two singles for an RBI, and Travis Cooke slapped a home run and two singles for an RBI. James Griffes hit ripped a home run.

• I.A. Braves 8, Back Pew Crew 3

The game was tied at the end of three. The Braves broke the deadlock in the last two innings.

Mario Devito doubled and hit two singles for an RBI for the Braves. Frank Kaesser hit two singles and Travis Reynolds doubled and singled for two RBIs. Travis Holcomb blasted a home run.

Chris McConnell hit three singles for Back Pew. Johnny King doubled and Tom Smith singled for two RBIs.

• I.A. Braves 14, Simple Faith 2

The Braves dominated from the start with eight runs in the first inning.

Lindsay Cannon hit three singles for an RBI for the Braves. Robert Colbert doubled and singled for three RBIs, and Damon Reynolds doubled and singled for an RBI.

Woody Virgin and Chase Ryals hit two singles for Simple Faith. Tray Virgin singled.

• DWC-Pike 22, Simple Faith 9

Pike finished strong with six runs in the fifth and eight in the sixth.

Steve Bartlett doubled and hit three singles for two RBIs for Pike. Michael Haynes homered and hit three singles for three RBIs, and Mike Manthey connected for two doubles and a single for three RBIs.

Woody Virgin hit two triples for an RBI for Simple Faith. Tray Virgin tripled and singled, and Trey Isham hit two singles.

• Niceville-UMC 17, DWC-Pike 13

Niceville had a big inning in the fourth with nine runs scored.

Chris Radliffe doubled and hit two singles for three RBIs for Niceville. Eric Welton doubled and hit two singles, and Jordan Mathers tripled and doubled.

Ryan Grandstaff doubled and hit three singles for two RBIs for Pike. Steve Bartlett doubled and hit two singles, and Jordan Shepardson tripled and hit two singles.
