Immanuel Braves slips by Rocky Bayou Baptist

Travis Holcomb knocked in two runs to lead the Immanuel Anglican Braves in a 9-8 win over Rocky Bayou Baptist in the Church Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Holcomb ripped two doubles and a single for two RBIs.

The Braves trailed 7-0 at the end of two innings. In the bottom of the third, the Braves scored six and then tied the game in the fourth with one run. In the fifth, they edged ahead with one run. In the last inning, both teams scored one with the Braves taking the win.

Damon Reynolds hit two doubles and a single for an RBI for the Braves. Jaymeson Foerster doubled and hit two singles.

Joe Feltner hit two singles for two RBIs for Rocky. Cody Friesen batted two singles for an RBI.

• Niceville UMC 17, IA Braves 7

At the end of three innings, Braves led 5-4. Niceville exploded in the sixth with nine runs to put the game away.

Steve Schutt doubled and hit three singles for two RBIs for Niceville, and Brian Davies hit three singles.

Travis Reynolds doubled and singled for the Braves. Brandon Wilson and Damon Reynolds each hit two singles. Travis Holcomb blasted a home run.

• Destiny Worship Center 19, Simple Faith 18

DWC led 13-6 at the end of five innings and then held off a Simple Faith surge in the last couple of innings for the win.

Destin Holland hit three doubles and a single for four RBIs for DWC. Phillip Poundstone connected for four singles and an RBI, and Steven Vaggalis hit three singles for two RBIs.

Justin Bisel doubled and hit three singles for four RBIs for Simple Faith. Kolemann Truett homered and singled for four RBIs, and Eric Brown doubled and singled for three RBIs.

• D-Unit 25, DWC 14

D-Unit had two big innings to pull off the win, 10 runs in the fifth and nine in the seventh.

Eric Leurinda hit the cycle with a homer, triple, double and a single for seven RBIs for D-Unit. Jake Pugh tripled and hit two singles for two RBIs, and Zach Newman belted a home run and a double for four RBIs.

Zach Raya led DWC with four singles. Destin Holland hit three singles for two RBIs, and Fleetwood Covington smacked a home run and a single for five RBIs.

• DUMC 25, DWC Pike 6

DUMC started strong with 13 runs in the first inning.

Brandon Patzig led the effort for DUMC with a homer and three singles for four RBIs. Cleve Daniels slapped a home run, double and a single for three RBIs, and Andrew McLendon hi three singles for three RBIs. Mitch Speed and Lenny Matos each hit home runs.

B.J. Wood hit three singles for an RBI for Pike. Mike Manthey pounded out a home run and a single for an RBI, and Michael Haynes hit two singles for an RBI.

• Iron Men 21, Back Pew Crew 8

Iron Men led 15-1 at the end of three innings.

Justin Chaknis knocked in six runs on a home run, two triples and a double for Iron Men. Jesse Hart hit three singles, and Billy Roof doubled and hit two singles for three RBIs.

Brad Davies doubled and hit two singles for two RBIs for Back Pew. Steve Rivera doubled and singled for two RBIs, and Ellis Tucker hit two singles for an RBI.

• Niceville UMC 24, Back Pew Crew 12

At the end of two innings, Back Pew led 11-10. Niceville pulled away in the next two innings to put the game away.

Adam VaFides doubled and hit three singles for five RBIs for Niceville. Steve Schutt hit two doubles and two singles for four RBIs, and Ryan Olin tripled and hit two singles for two RBIs. James Jetton knocked a three-run homer.

Steve Rivera knocked in seven runs on a homer, triple and single for Back Pew. Brad Davies hit three singles, and Jordan Hutchison hit two singles.
