Duval makes title dive

Former Destin Marlin, Zach Duval, is springing his way into the dive world.
Now a diver for the Pioneers of Indian River State, Duval earned the top spot in both the one-meter and three-meter springboard event at the National Junior College Atheletic Association’s Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships in Buffalo, NY.
Duval earned the first-place finish with a score of 512.20 for the Pioneers.
Duval graduated from Fort Walton Beach High in 2012 where he was a swimmer and diver for all four years. As a junior at FWB, he placed third at state in the one-meter diving event and then second in the one-meter dive his senior year.
After graduation he received a scholarship to be a member of the Indian River State Colege Swimming and Diving team.
His freshman year as an Indian River Pioneer he placed fourth in the three-meter springboard event and third in the three meter at the NJCAA championships. However, Duval was redshirted the next year due to a torn labrum.
This year he is back and on the board and managed to sweep the diving competition at the NJCAA championships.
