FORE: Destin Marlins spank Spartans

In the final regular season round of golf, the Destin Middle School girls golf team blasted the visiting Bruner Spartans by more than 30 strokes on the Creek Course at Indian Bayou Golf and Country Club in Destin.

“We shot our best score of the season with a final of 120 to Bruners 157,” said Destin golf coach Patricia Malpass.

Cameron Farrah led the Marlins Monday with a score of 27 on six holes. Madison Tenore shot a 28 for Destin, while Emery Keen scored 32, Emily Reyna shot a 33,  Riley Conroy 36, and Lily Rice 46.

“The girls have been playing their best golf of the season lately so I'm looking forward to the county tournament on Monday at Eglin Golf Course,” Malpass said.

Destin along with the other middle schools in the county will be teeing off at 8 a.m. Monday at the Eglin Golf Course in Niceville.
