Destin baseballers end on winning note

The Destin Marlins baseball team went out with a bang Tuesday evening with a 30-2 win over the Lewis Falcons in middle school action in Valparaiso.

With the win the Marlins finished 8-4 overall and 3-4 in league play.

Harrison Brice was the winning pitcher for the Marlins against Lewis. He pitched three innings, struck out six and gave up no walks.

Brice also had a big day at bat, going 4-for-4 with five RBIs and a home run shot in his last at bat as a Marlin.

Other Marlins with good at bats were Jonah Hoover who went 3-for-4; Cameron Gagliano, 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs scored; Hayden Hubbard, Griffin Wilbur and Christian Ford, each went 2-for-2 with two RBIs; and Robby Rush, 2-for-3 with two RBIs.

Preston Murphy, Trey Wainwright, Conner Crimmins and Aiden Garrity all collected hits for the Marlins.

On Monday, the Marlins set a school record during the game against Bruner with 20 hits in a game. However, they put up a new mark on Tuesday against Lewis with 30 hits and 30 runs.
