Destin Middle School's Boys and Girls Cross Country teams continue to dominate at local meets.

Last week at Pryor in Fort Walton Beach, the Destin girls won with a near perfect score of 16, while the boys won with a score of 17.

Coming in first for the Marlins were Luke Bilger and Jayden Horne.

On Wednesday, the team again demonstrated their consistency and progress at St. Mary's, with many runners establishing new personal records during the two mile race.

“So many of our runners are intrinsically motivated and naturally competitive at DMS,” said Destin Coach Tina Barron.

“Many of our boys and girls not only have run together for three or more years, but also play more than one sport. They are stellar students. Establishing goals and increasing efficiency during runs so we can continue to improve for county and state is our team's mission. Each week our runners exemplify an unparalleled commitment to their team and the team's mission.”
