Bayou, bay, beach run has it all

Neither cold temps or wind kept the runners away this past weekend as they turned out in droves for the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce's 6th Bayou, Bay and Beach 5K Run/Walk, 10K and Half Marathon.

With a start and finish at Clement Taylor Park along the Choctawhatchee Bay in Destin, runners took to the pavement.

Here’s a list of the overall winners in each of the races.

5K Run

Female - Kambry Smith, 12 of Destin with a finish of 21:35.

Male – Trae Pappas, 28, of Fort Walton Beach at 21:16.

Female Masters – Elizabetta Jerome, 56, of Watersound, 24:52.

Male Masters – Canyon Knop, 42, Fort Walton Beach, 24:13.

10K Run

Female – Kelly Conway, 23, Santa Rosa Beach, 42:07.

Male – Jonathan Kaczanoski, 30, Fort Walton Beach, 39:22.

Female Masters – Amy Parker, 41, Niceville, 49:39.

Male Masters – David Shearon, 46, Panama City Beach, 39:30.

Half-Marathon

Female – Katherine Alft, 33, Milwaukee, Wis., 1:39:34.

Male – Kevin Delaney, 47, Arlington, Mass., 1:18:37.

Female Masters – Kristine Wandahl, 46, Enterprise, Ala., 1:44:57.

Male Masters – Andy Bass, 47, Trussville, Ala., 1:41:19.

5K Walk

Female – Gerri Lesak, 62, Niceville, 45:43.

Male – Bob Matheson, 67, DeFuniak Springs, 36:24.
