Destin girls golf team finish strong

The Destin Marlin girls golf team finished strong with two wins and one loss this week in middle school action.

On Monday they lost to Ruckel of Niceville at Bluewater Bay, then on Tuesday they defeated Liza Jackson at Fort Beach Golf Club.

Then Wednesday they defeated Davidson and Meigs at Indian Bayou Golf and Country Club.

“We had our lowest score of the season with a 118 over six holes,” said Destin Coach Patricia Malpass.

The Lady Marlins were led by Madison Tenore who was three under par posting a score of 20. Tenore had an eagle on the fifth hole on the Choctaw course.

Other scores for Destin against Meigs and Davidson were Emily Reyna with a 30; Riley Conroy, 35; Gracie Chandler, 34; Marlee Rountree, 39; and Kendall Hewitt, 46.

The Marlins wrapped up its regular season with a 10-2 record and will be playing in the Okaloosa County Middle School County Tournament on May 5 at Eglin Golf Course.
