Destin makes clean sweep in last regular season match

The Destin Marlins made a clean sweep on the tennis courts with both girls and boys winning over the Meigs Wildcats in middle school action at Sandpiper Cove in Destin.
“It was a great way to end the season,” said Destin Coach Ronda Pridgen.
The win over Meigs was the last regular season match before the county tournament begins Wednesday at the Fort Walton Beach Tennis Center.
In boys single competition, Destin’s No. 1 seed Brody Miller won 6-2, while No. 2 Beck Holahan won 6-1. Ethan Eubanks won 6-0, Eason Ingram won 6-4, and Ty Suchevits won 6-1.
In doubles, Miller and Holahan teamed up to post a 6-3 victory. Hawke Yohe and Hudson Akers won their match 6-2, and Eubanks and Matthew Wilson won 6-0.
In girls play, Destin’s No. 4 and No. 5 players, Ainsley Barousee and Madison Clark, won their singles matches 6-0. Madison Pridgen and Sophie Cohen each posted 6-2 victories, while Lily Stiles lost 6-3.
Stiles and Pridgen teamed up for a 6-1 win in doubles for Destin. Madison Baker and Sophie Berry won in doubles 6-2 and Claire Roberston and Sydney Eubanks lost a close one 6-5.
