Sun South wins softball title

Sun South defeated Beer Necessities 16-9 to earn the championship title of Men’s Division II Softball League at Morgan Sports Center.
Sun South led 10-2 at the end of two innings and 15-6 at the end of four.
Blake Cody knocked in two RBIs for Sun South on two singles and a double. Chad Betts hit two singles and a triple, while Josh Livingston tripled and doubled for three RBIs.
Josh Weddington was tops for Beer with three singles and a double. Caleb Midgett belted a three-run homer, and Cody Barron had a triple and a single.

Rob Carrco smacked two homers for Sun South. Josh Livingston hit two doubles, and Blake Cody connected for three singles.
Beer Necessities 14, 30 Aces 12
At the end of three innings, the game was deadlocked at 7-7. Beer put up three runs in the fourth and two in the fifth to go up 12-11. In the last inning, Beer scored two and 30 Aces one.
Josh Weddington was tops for Beer with a homer, triple and a single for three RBIs. Andy Poveda and Jared Rogers each hit two singles for an RBI.
Jared Walker led 30 Aces with four singles for two RBIs. Nate Henderson hit two singles and a double, while Blake McEachern homered and hit two singles for two RBIs.
DIVISION 1
Doc’s Softball 21, McLendon Builders 4
Doc’s dominated from the beginning, putting the game away in five innings.
Adam Conant led Doc’s with a homer and two doubles. Keith Higgins connected for three singles, and Shawn Atkins doubled and hit two singles.
Brandon Patzig slapped a homer and a single for McLendon. Andrew McLendon also smacked a home run.
Heritage Tree Service 21, X-treme 19
At the end of three innings, Heritage led 6-5. In the fourth, X-treme got the advantage with three runs for an 8-7 lead. However, it didn’t last long with Heritage taking the lead back in the fifth with two runs. Heritage finished out the game with seven in the sixth and five in the seventh for the win.
Brandon Hewlett clobbered two home runs to lead Heritage. Chris Tarplee connected for a triple and two singles.
Chris Terry hammered out three homers for X-treme. Travis Carroll and Chris Poole each hit one homer.
