Fenders hold off Chiropractic for win

Chris Edmonsond cranked out four hits to lead Fenders in a 12-11 win over Emerald Coast Chiropractic in the first week of play in the Coed Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Edmonsond connected for two doubles and two singles for two RBIs.

Fenders jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first three innings. In the top of the fifth, Fenders added four more runs, but then gave up six runs to Emerald Coast in the bottom half. In the top of the seventh, Fenders led 12-7. Chiropractic threatened with four runs in the bottom half.

Ashlyn Standford hit three singles for an RBI for Fenders, while Laura Mosley connected for three singles for three RBIs.

Tami Groth and Teresa DesGranges each hit three singles for an RBI for Emerald Coast Chiropractic. Clint Clemens hit a double and a single for two RBIs.

TayGray started strong with 10 runs in the first inning and then capped off the game in five innings.

Marc Bergerstock hit the cycle with a homer, triple, double and a single for four RBIs for TayGray. Josh Snyder ripped a homer, double and a single for three RBIs, and Angela Coteat doubled and hit two singles for an RBI. Chad Ashton belted a two-run homer.

Jason Jameson was tops for Merica with two singles. Steven Kertz singled for two RBIs, and Hollie Henderson singled.

• Chosen 20, LuLu’s 14

At the end of two innings, Chosen was up 9-3 and 17-9 at the end of five.

Blaine Watkins led Chosen with a homer and two singles for four RBIs. Ghan Randolph tripled and hit two singles for three RBIs and Jennifer Phillips cracked out two homers for three RBIs.

Matt O’Hair connected for two doubles and two singles for LuLu’s. Christina Fells hit two singles.

Bubba took a 13-2 lead in the first two innings and put the game away in five innings.
