Almighty Installations knocks off Fenders

Jason Little knocked in six runs to lead Almighty Installations in a 20-14 win over Fenders in the Coed Division I Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Little clobbered one out of the park and then hit two inside the park homers, plus a single for six RBIs.

Almighty trailed 5-0 after the first two innings. In the top of the third, Almighty put it in gear and knocked in the 10-run limit to take the lead for good. Almighty had one last strong inning scoring six in the seventh.

Todd Preston doubled and hit two singles for three RBIs for Almighty, and Marva Dents connected for two singles.

David Beard hit two doubles and two singles for Fenders. Chris Edmonsond tripled, doubled and singled for four RBIs and Courtney Stephens hit two singles.

Having Fun stepped out to an 11-5 lead in the first three innings and then continued to bury Advanced A/C with five each in the fourth and fifth. Having Fun finished up with one in the sixth and four in the seventh for the win.

Austin Jessup blasted out four homers for 11 RBIs to lead Having Fun. Jen Phillips batted a triple, two doubles and two singles for an RBI. Micah Priest hit two doubles and a single for an RBI, and Michael Haynes slapped a home run, a double and a single for five RBIs.

Dan Candeias homered, hit two doubles and a single for three RBIs for Advanced A/C. Nate Decker knocked in six runs on a homer, double and a single, while Aubrey Claxton hit two singles for an RBI.

Emerald Coast jumped out to a 20-2 lead in the first two innings and then finished it off in five.

Shawn Woods was the big stick for Emerald Coast with two homers and three singles for three RBIs. Todd Preston homered, doubled and hit three singles for an RBI, and Don Edwards homered, doubled and singled for two RBIs.

Adam VaFides hit two doubles and a single for two RBIs for 30A. Brad Middleton connected for three singles for two RBIs, and Carlos Poveda doubled and hit two singles for two RBIs.

• Merica 17, 30A Company 9

The first two innings of play were close with Merica holding a slight 5-4 lead. In the third, Merica stayed a step ahead with five runs to 30A’s four. In the next two innings, Merica scored seven and 30A one.

Justin Lund led Merica with a home run and two singles. Jason Jamison connected for two doubles and a single, while Hollie Henderson doubled and hit two singles for an RBI. Fleetwood Covington smacked a home run.

Adam VaFides was the top batter for 30A with a home run, double and a single for an RBI. Amanda Bonne hit three singles for an RBI, and Brad Middleton connected for three singles.
