Heritage Tree Service chops down Sunsouth Builders

Chris Tarplee knocked in three runs to lead Heritage Tree Service in a 19-5 win over Sunsouth Builders in the Men’s Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Tarplee cracked out two doubles and a single for his three RBIs.

Heritage started slow with three runs in the second inning and another three in the third. In the bottom of the fourth, Heritage exploded for 13 runs and the win.

Justin Melo doubled and hit two singles for two RBIs for Heritage, while Frank Kaeser connected for three singles and an RBI. Justin Nunley, Michael Haynes and Nolan Lang each belted home runs.

Blake Cody tripled, doubled and singled for two RBIs for Sunsouth. Pedro Gonzales hit two singles for an RBI, and Mike Stoltz singled.

• World Famous Crab Island 23, Sunsouth Builders 11

At the end of two innings, the game was deadlocked at 10-10. In the bottom of the third, Crab Island pulled away with five runs then picked up four more in both the fourth and fifth innings.

Ruben Holt was tops for Crab Island with a triple, three doubles and a single for four RBIs. Allen Owens ripped three doubles and a single for two RBIs, and Frankie Owens connected for four singles.

Gonzales led Sunsouth with three singles. Chad Betts hit two singles for an RBI, and Cody hit two singles.

• Busch Leaguers 28, X-Treme H20 16

X-Treme got the early lead 9-7 in the first two innings. Busch Leaguers stepped into the lead in the top of the third with 10 runs. They then put the game away in five innings, with six runs in the fourth and five in the fifth.

Colby Crum led the Busch Leaguers with two homers, two triples, two doubles and a single for five RBIs. Tate Deshong slapped a home run, triple, double and three singles for three RBIs, and Kyle Ely tripled, hit two doubles and two singles for four RBIs. Robert Price and Ransom Early each cracked out a home run.

Jamie Steiner pounded out two home runs, a triple and a single for three RBIs for X-Treme. Marc Bergerstock tripled, doubled and hit two singles for four RBIs, and Josh Snyder connected for two triples, a double and three singles for four RBIs. Billy Roof and Jeremy Viayanet each hit a home run.

• Heritage Tree Service 26, 30Aces 16

Down 10-4 after three innings, Heritage finished strong with eight runs in the sixth and seventh innings.

Michael Haynes cracked a home run, three triples, two doubles and a single for four RBIs for Heritage. Jason Little tripled, doubled and hit two singles for three RBIs, and Chris Tarplee doubled and hit two singles for three RBIs.

Jeff Tullis knocked in five runs for 30Aces on three triples, a double and two singles. Jon Viayanet tripled, hit two doubles and a single for three RBIs, and Ryan McKay homered, tripled, doubled and hit two singles for four RBIs.
