Merica defeats Fenders

Justin Lund connected for four hits to lead Merica in a 16-10 win over Fenders in the Coed Division II Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Lund cranked out two homers, a triple and a single for two RBIs.

In the first inning, both teams scored four runs. In the top of the second, Merica pulled ahead with seven runs.

Jason Jamison hit a homer and three singles for an RBI for Merica, while Matt Reich slapped a home run, a double and a single.

David Beard tripled and hit two singles for two RBIs for Fenders. Ashlyn Stanford and Todd Schrag each connected for three singles.

Fenders 18, Chosen Heating and Cool 16

At the end of two innings, the game was tied at 6-6. In the third, Fenders pulled away with six runs and led 18-12 at the end of six.

Chris Edmondson led Fenders with a homer, triple, double and a single for two RBIs. Aaron Bradley tripled, hit two doubles and a single for an RBI, and Todd Schrag tripled, doubled and hit two singles for an RBI.

Danny Atkins homered and singled for an RBI for Chosen. Holly Black and Chris Bennoth each doubled and hit two singles.

Chosen Heating and Cool 28, Emerald Coast Chiropractic 15

Down 11-5 after three innings, Chosen exploded in the top of the fourth with 10 runs to take the lead.

Blaine Watkins led Chosen with two triples and a double for three RBIs. Kelly Irv tripled and doubled for an RBI, and Melissa Mayer tripled for an RBI.

Chris Bennoth led Chiropractic with three triples, a double and two singles for five RBIs. Susie Pierce hit three triples and two doubles for three RBIs, and Don Edwards hit a home run.
