Emerald Coast Chiropractic cracks out win
John Corlew collected three hits to lead Emerald Coast Chiropractic in a 14-13 win over Merica in the Coed Division II Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.
Corlew hit a double and two singles for two RBIs.
At the end of four innings, Chiropractic had a 9-2 lead. In the top of the fifth, Merica exploded for the 10-run limit to go up 12-9. In the top of the sixth, Merica picked up one more run for a 13-9 advantage.
Chiropractic battled back with four runs in the sixth and then finished it off with one in the bottom of the seventh.
Don Edwards hit a double and a single for two RBIs for Chiropractic, while Tami Groth hit two singles for an RBI and Clint Clemens belted a two-run homer.
Justin Lund slapped a home run, a double and a single for three RBIs for Merica. Jason Jamison hit two singles for two RBIs, and Jane Blanken doubled.
30A Company 27, Fenders 15
30A stepped out to an 8-4 lead in the first two innings, then scored the 10-run limit in the third for an 18-7 ball game.
30A finished up the game with six runs in the fourth and three in the fifth for a 12-run ruling on the game.
Adam Vafides knocked in six runs on two homers, a double and a single for 30A. Scott McLeod smacked a home run, two triples and a double for two RBIs, and Allison Arreguin tripled, hit two doubles and a single for two RBIs. Josh Ring clobbered two home runs for three RBIs.
Aaron Bradley doubled and hit two singles for an RBI for Fenders. David Beard tripled and singled for two RBIs, and Courtney Stevenson doubled and singled for two RBIs.
Emerald Coast Alarms 16, Merica 15
At the end of two innings, Alarms led 12-10. Merica scored three in the bottom half to go up 13-12, but by the end of four complete innings, the game was tied at 15-15. Alarms scored one run in the top of the fifth and held Merica scoreless for the win.
Nic Reimer tripled, hit two doubles and a single for three RBIs for Alarms. Greg Griffith hit two triples and a double for two RBIs, and Casey Tetman singled for an RBI.
Justin Lund and Hannah Asprodites each tripled, doubled and hit two singles for three RBIs for Merica. Steve Kertz connected for a triple and a double for two RBIs.
Emerald Coast Alarms 22, Chosen Heating and Cool 18
After two innings, the game was tied at 8-8. In the top of the fourth, Chosen scored the 10-run limit to take the lead.
Alarms battled back with five in the fifth and seven runs in the sixth.
In the seventh innings, Chosen scored three and Alarms put up two for the win.
Matt Wright led Alarms with a triple, two doubles and four singles for four RBIs. Nic Reimer tripled, hit two doubles and two singles for two RBIs, and Greg Griffith tripled and doubled for an RBI.
Chris Bennorth hit four doubles and three singles for four RBIs for Chosen. Geoff Goodsell hit two triples, a double and two singles for four RBIs, and Danny Adkins tripled, doubled and hit three singles for three RBIs.
