Advanced A/C, Having Fun to square off for title

Advanced A/C & Heating will take on Having Fun Yet? one more time today at 6:30 p.m. for the championship title of the Coed Division I Softball League Tournament at Morgan Sports Center.

Last week, Advanced A/C beat Having Fun 29-13, knocking them down to the loser’s bracket. Having Fun knocked off TayGray Photography 25-11 for a chance at the title.

In the Advanced A/C vs. Having Fun game, Advanced took a 6-3 lead in the first inning. In the second, Having Fun tied up the game at 7-7.

In the top of the third, Advanced A/C pulled away scoring the 10-run limit. Having Fun answered with four in the bottom half. Advanced picked up five more runs in the fourth and seven in the fifth to secure the win.

Nate Decker clobbered two home runs and two singles for three RBIs to lead Advanced. Jordan Brewer slapped a home run and two doubles for two RBIs, and Tiny Lee tripled, doubled and hit two singles. Brandon Patzig also had a home run.

Neil Washington was tops for Having Fun with a double and two singles. Austin Jessup doubled and singled and Riane Hughes singled for an RBI. Batting home runs were Tom Pitroff, Michael Haynes and Kurt Haynes.

In the loser’s bracket game, Having Fun whipped TayGray 28-11.

At the end of two innings, Having Fun was on top 10-4. In the top of the third, Having Fun scored seven runs and then one more in the fourth. In the fifth inning, Having Fun exploded for the 10-run limit and a run ruling on the game.

Austin Jessup ripped a home run and three singles for three RBIs for Having Fun. Neil Washington homered, doubled and hit two singles for an RBI, and Tom Pitroff doubled and hit two singles for two RBIs. Michael Haynes also slapped a home run.

Josh Snyder led TayGray with two doubles and two singles. Shannon Vanden Heuvel hit an inside-the-park home run and two singles for an RBI, and Amber Destaven hit two singles.
