Landsharks take bite out of Navigators

Justin Hutchison batted in seven runs to lead Landshark’s Pizza in a 19-15 win over Navigators in the Coed Division IV Softball League at Morgan Sports Center.

Hutchison cranked out two home runs and two singles for seven RBIs.

In the first three innings, Landsharks took a 4-2 lead. In the top of the fourth, Landsharks scored the 10-run limit and then Navigators answered with seven. In the fifth, Navigators closed it down with three runs.

In the sixth, Landsharks scored five and Navigators three.

Chloe Collinsworth hit a double and three singles for three RBIs for Landsharks. Jess Ramm homered and hit two singles for two RBIs, and Zach Cragin homered.

Andrew Albright led Navigators with two homers, two doubles and a single for six RBIs. Ryan Marcell hit the cycle with a homer, triple, double and a single for three RBIs, and Bart Hardy homered, doubled and singled for four RBIs.

Misfits 34, HOA’s 7

Misfits scored the 10-run limit twice for the win.

Casey Ceirer was tops for Misfits with a home run, two triples and a double for 10 RBIs. Brittney Mainor connected for a triple and four singles for three RBIs, and Brandon Brockshaw tripled, double and hit two singles for four RBIs.

Lauren Woods doubled and singled for three RBIs for HOA’s. Ken Wampler hit a solo home run and Robert McFarland a two-run homer.


Island Wings 28, Destin Locksmithing 15

In the first inning, each team put up nine runs. Island Wings pulled away in the second with the 10-run limit. Island Wings had another big inning in the fourth with eight runs.

Chris Rubino led Island Wings with two doubles and three singles for four RBIs. Todd Schrag hit two triples and two singles for four RBIs, and Christy Rubino hit three singles for three RBIs.

Greg Griffith doubled and singled for an RBI for Locksmithing, while Matt Wright hit two singles for two RBIs and Mendy McIver hit two singles.

Chosen Heating 16, SoWal 15

With the game tied at 11-11 going into the last inning, SoWal scored four runs in the top half and Chosen answered with five in the bottom for the win.

Lee Major hit two triples, three doubles and two singles for four RBIs for Chosen. Danny Adkins connected for two triples, a double and two singles for two RBIs, and Melissa Major tripled and hit two doubles for two RBIs.

Steve Kline knocked in three runs for SoWal on two triples and three doubles. Ken Johnson hit three triples and two doubles for three RBIs, and Derric Petty hit two triples, a double and a single for two RBIs.
