Free Agents clip Tailfins in softball

Travis Carroll knocked in seven runs to lead Free Agents in a 35-21 win over Tailfins Merica in the Coed Division I Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Carroll belted two home runs and three singles for the seven RBIs.

Tailfin jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the first two innings. In the top of the third, Free Agents scored four but Tailfins answered with two to keep the lead, 10-6.

Free Agents took control of the game in the fourth inning, scoring the 10-run limit. In the fifth, Free Agents did it again knocking in the 10-run limit for a 26-18 advantage. In the last inning, Free Agents put up nine runs and Tailfins three.

Brandon Patzig connected for two doubles and three singles for three RBIs for Free Agents. Tiny Lee hit four singles for three RBIs. Jordan Brewer hit two home runs and Dan Candeias one.

Tops for Tailfins was Justin Lund with two home runs and two doubles for five RBIs. Hannah Aspordite hit two singles and Jason Jamison homered and hit two singles for three RBIs. Zack Raya, Steve Kertz and Jason Jamison each hit home runs.

At the end of two innings, TayGray led 17-8. TayGray finished off the game in the fifth by putting up the 10-run limit in the inning.

Josh Snyder led TayGray with two homers, a triple and a single for five RBIs. David Holifield doubled and hit three singles for three RBIs, and Angela Coteat doubled and hit three singles for two RBIs. Michael Haynes also hit a home run.

Joseph Feltner was the big stick for Clemenza’s with two doubles and a single for three RBIs. John Viayanet tripled and doubled for an RBI, and Jobina Johnson hit two singles for an RBI.

COED DIVISION II

La Paz 27, 30A 6

La Paz dominated scoring the 10-run limit in both the second and third innings. The game was over in five innings.

Pete VanHersteren hit three singles for an RBI for La Paz. Donnie Montry doubled and hit two singles and Missy Elliott hit two singles for three RBIs.

Chris Poole tripled and hit two singles for two RBIs for 30A. Josh Ring doubled and singled, and Brittany Foerster hit two singles for an RBI.

Wing Stop 32, 30A 22

30A jumped out to a 10-5 lead in the first inning and stayed on top through three innings, 17-10. In the top of the fourth, Wing Stop evened the score with seven runs and then took the lead in the fifth with eight runs. Wing Stop polished off the game in the top of the sixth with six runs.

Michael Robbins doubled and hit two singles for an RBI for Wing Stop. Linda Brown hit three singles for an RBI, and Kristin Goergen hit three singles.

Chris Poole tripled, hit three doubles and a single for three RBIs for 30A. Josh Ring belted a home run, two doubles and a single for two RBIs, and David Beard hit three doubles and a single for four RBIs. Chelsea Womack hit two singles.
