Liquid Fix beats Extra Krispy, advances in tournament play

Liquid Fix knocked off Extra Krispy 28-14 for a chance to play for the championship of the Men’s Recreational Softball Spring Tournament at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Liquid Fix was scheduled to play Busch Leaguers Tuesday night for the title, but results were not available at press time. Earlier in the double-elimination tournament, Busch Leaguers edged out Liquid Fix by one run.

In the win over Extra Krispy, Liquid Fix came on strong in the end scoring nine runs in the third and 11 in the fourth to finish the game off in five innings.

Jamie Steiner clobbered three home runs and a double for three RBIs for Liquid Fix. Chris Terry slapped a home run, two doubles and a single for two RBIs, and Josh Snyder connected for two doubles and two singles for two RBIs. Brian Martinez also belted a home run.

Chad Teague cranked out a home run and a single for an RBI for Extra Krispy. Will Eads doubled and hit two singles for two RBIs, and Cody Maddox doubled and hit two singles.

In earlier tournament action, Extra Krispy knocked out World Famous Crab Island 26-17 in Game 6.

After two innings, Extra Krispy led 7-6 and then pulled away in the top of the third with 13 runs.

Will Eads knocked in four runs for Krispy with a homer, two doubles and a single. Cody Maddux hit two doubles and a single for three RBIs and Chad Teague hit two doubles and a single for two RBIs.

Rubin Holt belted three doubles and two singles for two RBIs for Crab Island. Jamie Dunn connected for two doubles and two singles for three RBIs, and Quinn Crozier hit two doubles and two singles.
