Free Agents undefeated in tournament play

After two rounds of play, Free Agents remain undefeated in the Coed Division I Softball League end-of-season tournament at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Free Agents edged out TayGray Photography 25-22 in Game 3. With the loss, TayGray drops down to the loser’s bracket and will face the winner of the Clemenza’s Uptown vs. Tailfins Merica at 8 p.m. Wednesday.

In Game 3, TayGray stepped out to a 4-1 lead in the first two innings. However, Free Agents took charge momentarily in the bottom of the third with seven runs.

TayGray got the lead back in the top of the fourth with four runs. In the bottom half, Free Agents exploded for the 10-run limit and an 18-8 lead. TayGray battled back picking up one in the fifth, four in the sixth and then nine in the top of the seventh.

Free Agents answered with seven runs in the bottom of the seventh with Jordan Brewer smacking a grand slam for the win.

Nate Decker hit three triples for three RBIs for Free Agents, and Brandon Patzig doubled and singled for three RBIs. Aubrey Claxton hit two singles for an RBI and Tiny Lee clobbered a home run.

Josh Snyder was the big stick for TayGray with three home runs (one grand slam), and a double for eight RBIs. Marc Bergerstock hit three doubles and two singles for three RBIs, and Shardae Hernandez with two doubles and two singles for three RBIs.

Earlier in Game 2, TayGray Photography beat Tailfins Merica 17-5.

At the end of three innings, the game was tied at 4-4. TayGray edged ahead in the fourth with one run and then brought in seven in the bottom of the fifth. TayGray finished off the game with five in the sixth.

Marc Bergerstock ripped three triples, a double and a single for four RBIs for TayGray. Josh Snyder belted two home runs and a double for four RBIs, and Shardae Hernandez tripled, doubled and hit two singles for three RBIs. Michael Haynes also hit a home run.

Justin Lund hit two doubles for two RBIs for Tailfins. Andrew Fish and Megan Knoll each hit two singles.

Coed Division II

Wing Stop is undefeated thus far in the end-of-season tournament for Coed Division II.

In Game 3, Wing Stop beat Emerald Coast Chiropractic 30-9.

Wing Stop started strong, scoring the 10-run limit in the first inning. By the end of three, they were on top 21-7. They scored nine more in the bottom of the fourth.

Jordan Locke was tops for Wing Stop with three triples, three doubles and two singles for three RBIs. Nikki Stewart hit two triples and two doubles for two RBIs, and Robbie Overly tripled, hit two doubles and two singles for two RBIs.

Evan Groth cracked out two triples, a double and two singles for two RBIs for Emerald Coast. Brent Stinnet hit three singles for two RBIs.

Earlier in Game 2, Wing Stop beat La Paz 26-24.

Trailing 21-15 after four innings, Wing Stop finished strong putting up 11 runs in the last two innings combined for the win.

Ron Norville led Wing Stop with two triples, a double and three singles for three RBIs. Robbie Overy hit two doubles and three singles for two RBIs.

Donnie Montry hit three triples, three doubles and two singles for three RBIs for La Paz. Pete VanHenstern connected for two triples and two doubles for two RBIs.

La Paz will take on Island Wings at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in Game 4. The winner of Game 4 will advance to play Emerald Coast Chiropractic at 8 p.m. in Game 5.
