Liquid Fix captures Men’s League title

Not once, but twice.

Liquid Fix defeated Busch Leaguers twice to win the championship title of the Men’s Recreational Softball League Tournament at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

In the championship game, Liquid Fix prevailed 23-13 over Busch Leaguers.

Liquid Fix stepped out to a 10-2 lead in the first two innings. In the next three innings, Busch Leaguers closed it down but still trailed 13-10.

In the last two innings, Liquid Fix scored 10 while holding Busch Leaguers to three for the win.

Josh Snyder was top batter for Liquid Fix with a triple, two doubles and two singles for an RBI. Chris Terry slapped a home run, two doubles and a single for four RBIs, and Chris Poole hit two doubles and a single for an RBI. Others with home runs were Austin Jessup, Todd Preston and Jamie Steiner.

Ransom Early tripled and hit two singles for two RBIs for Busch Leaguers. Tate DeShong triple and hit two singles for an RBI and Kyle Ely ripped a home run and a single for an RBI. Austin Sullivan also slapped a home run.

In the earlier game, Liquid Fix blasted Busch Leaguers 30-15.

The first inning of play was close with both teams putting up eight runs.

In the second inning, Liquid Fix began to pull away with seven runs. In the bottom of the third, Liquid Fix exploded for 12 runs to go up 27-8. The game was over in five innings.

Terry Chris led Liquid Fix with a home run, triple and two singles for five RBIs. Chris Poole connected for two doubles and a single for four RBIs. Brandon Patzig clobbered two home runs, while Chris Terry, Todd Preston and Jamie Steiner each hit one.

Kyle Ely was tops for Busch Leaguers with a homer, double and a single for four RBIs. Austin Sullivan homered, doubled and singled for two RBIs, and Steve Helvie connected for three singles for two RBIs.
