In 1983, a small group of women met to form a competitive team tennis league in Northwest Florida. What started as one flight with a few teams has grown to four flights of 33 teams and more than 550 women spanning into three counties.

From the very beginning it was the goal of the NWFTA to donate to the local high schools to help supplement the school’s tennis team programs.

After the first season in 1983, the donation was $100 per high school tennis team. Today the donations are $1,000 per team and they are also starting scholarship funds.

The schools are appreciative and have given plaques, team shirts and have displayed banners with the leagues name on them.
