30A drives home win over Destin Locksmithing

In spite of a last inning surge from Destin Locksmithing, 30A pulled off a 27-26 win in the title game of the Coed Division III Softball League end-of-season tournament at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

30A led 10-7 at the end of two innings. In the top of the third, Locksmithing edged ahead with four runs. However, 30A evened the score in the bottom half with one run. In the fourth, both teams scored one run for a 12-12 game.

In the top of the fifth, Locksmithing scored three but 30A rallied in the bottom half with 10 runs for a 22-15 advantage.

In the sixth, 30A added four more for a 26-15 lead.

In the top of the seventh, Locksmithing exploded for 11 runs to tie the game at 26.

30A scored the one run needed in the bottom half for the win.

Jameson Forester was the big stick for 30A with a home run, double and two singles for five RBIs. Chelsea Womack ripped a home run and two singles for an RBI, and Chris Poole hit two triples and a double for four RBIs.

Greg Griffith tripled, hit two doubles and a single for three RBIs for Locksmithing. Brandon Blyden knocked in six runs on a double and three singles, and Matt Wright hit two doubles for two RBIs.
