Paddle at the Porch

The sixth annual Paddle at the Porch, sponsored by Destin ER, will be held Aug. 19 behind The Back Porch Seafood and Oyster Bar.

This event features a kid’s fun paddle, a 1-mile beginner ride, 3-mile recreational race and a 6-mile elite race.

Awards will follow the races.

Caddyshack Classic

The 32nd annual Caddyshack Classic, sponsored by Harbor Docks, is scheduled for Aug. 24 at Emerald Bay Golf Club.

Registration is at noon with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The tournament is a four-person team scramble. Entry fee is $500 per team, and includes green fees, cart, BBQ lunch provided by Jim 'N Nick's and beverages and libations donated by various local distributors.

Summer Open King Mackerel Tournament

The fourth annual Harbor Docks Summer Open King Mackerel Tournament is scheduled for Aug. 25-27.

A captain's meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 25 at Harbor Docks. Fish days are Saturday and Sunday with weigh-ins daily between 4 and 6 p.m.

There is a $5,000 guarantee prize award for the largest king mackerel caught.

Fore Her Golf Outing

The fifth annual Fore Her Golf Outing is set to tee off Sept. 29 at the Santa Rosa Golf and Beach Club in Santa Rosa Beach.

Check in and registration begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9:15 a.m.

Cost is $110 per person and includes lunch, 18 holes of golf, a cart, hole in one prizes and a silent auction.

This tournament benefits local women who are battling breast cancer and struggling financially.

Senior Walking Club

Come join the Destin Senior members for a walk around the Destin Community Center gym from 8-9 a.m. on Monday through Friday.

All of the miles that you walk will be added to the "team map" as the team travel from one region to the next. The team's miles are reported on the fourth Friday of each month at the Destin Senior Membership Potluck.

Open volleyball

The Destin Community Center will have open volleyball from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday nights.

Cost is $3 per session for non-residents and $2 per session for Destin residents.

Youth Fall Soccer

Registration is now open until Aug. 11 for Youth Fall Soccer for ages 3-15.

The fee is $45 for residents and $65 for non-residents. All games are played on Friday nights at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Registration can be completed online at www.cityofdestin.com or in person at the Destin Community Center from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Space is limited. Early registration is recommended. Coaches and team sponsors are needed.

Open basketball

The Destin Community Center will host open basketball on Tuesday nights from 6-8 p.m. for ages 9-16. Fee is $2 a session for Destin residents and $3 for non-residents.

Table Tennis weekly

Table Tennis is available weekly at the Destin Community Center from 9 a.m. until noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Paddles and balls are provided.

Fee is $3 for non-residents or $2 for Destin residents.
