Tay Gray Unleashed holds off Free Agents in title game

With fog looming over the fields at Morgan Sports Center, Josh Snyder clobbered four hits to lead Tay Gray Unleashed in a 19-14 victory in the championship game of the Coed Division I Softball League End of Season Tournament.

Snyder belted a triple, double and two singles for two RBIs.

At the end of two innings, the game was deadlocked at 3-3.

In the top of third, Free Agents scored one and Tay Gray answered with four.

The fourth inning was the turning point in the game. Free Agents scored four in the top and then Tay Gray scored the 10-run limit to go up 17-8.

In the fifth, Free Agents put three runs on the board and Tay Gray picked up two more.

Free Agents scored three last runs in the top of the sixth.

Michael Haynes doubled and hit three singles for Tay Gray for two RBIs, while Jennifer Phillips connected for three singles for two RBIs.

Big hitters for Free Agents were Tiny Lee with three singles for an RBI, Aubrey Claxton with two singles for an RBI, Brandon Patzig with a double and a single for four RBIs, and Dan Candeias a homer.

In earlier tournament action, Free Agents blasted Heritage Tree Service 25-6 to make it to the championship game.

At the end of three innings, Free Agents was on top 9-4.

In the fourth inning, Free Agents added six more runs then brought in the 10-run limit in the top of the fifth.

Heritage scored two last runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Brandon Patzig led Free Agents with two homers, a double and two singles for four RBIs. Jordan Brewer belted a homer, two doubles and a single for five RBIs, and Aubrey Claxton connected for four singles.

Justin Nunnley knocked in four runs for Heritage on a homer and a triple. Cody Maddox doubled and hit two singles and Jason Little doubled and singled.
