Tennis teams falter on the court

Gates Chipser posted the only win on the courts for the Destin Marlins in a middle school tennis match with the Ruckel Rams in Niceville Thursday afternoon.
Chipser, No. 3 seed for the Marlins, defeated Nathan Lederman 6-4.
Destin’s No. 1 Blake Forester lost 6-1 to JT Lupella, while Ethan Eubanks, Destin’s No. 2, lost 6-2 to Khang Dao.
Destin’s Eason Ingram lost a close one 7-5 to Max Freeman. Chris Blanchard lost 6-2 to Cooper Seymour.
In doubles play, Forester and Eubanks lost 6-0 to Lupella and Dao, while Chipser and Ingram had a close one, losing 6-4 to Lederman and Freeman.
As for the Destin girls, they lost every match.
Madison Clark lost 6-0 to Rachel McMullen, Kaila Ullrich lost 6-1 to Aspen Young, Carly Maurer went down 6-1 to Page Dolloff, Bella Burkett lost 6-3 to Alexandra Wells, and Sydney Eubanks lost 6-3 to Saharan Simmers.
In doubles, Clark and Maurer lost 6-0, and Ullrich and Burkett lost 6-1.
With the loss, both teams moved to 3-1 on the season. Up next is a 4 p.m. match on Monday at Bluewater Bay Tennis Center against Liza Jackson.
