Bradley Textile clips Island Wings

Evan Griffith connected for five hits to lead Bradley Textile Industrial in an 18-17 win over Island Wings in the Coed Division I Softball League at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Griffith ripped a triple and four singles for three RBIs.

At the end of two innings, the game was tied at 8-8.

In the top of the third, Island Wings pulled ahead with six runs. Bradley got one back in the bottom half.

In the fourth, Bradley closed it down to a one run game but still trailed 14-13.

In the fifth, Bradley took the lead 17-15 and then finished off the game in the next two innings.

Elizabeth Grandstaff hit four singles for two RBIs for Bradley. Bobby Griffith doubled and hit three singles for three RBIs.

Jen Bazylak knocked in seven RBIs on a homer and three singles for Island Wings. Mike Jones tripled and hit two singles for two RBIs, and Todd Schrag hit two doubles and a single for three RBIs.

In the first inning, TayGray took an 8-7 lead and increased it by one in the third.

In the fifth and sixth innings, TayGray scored two runs in each for a 13-7 advantage. Bradley scored one last run in the top of the seventh.

Jason Little belted two home runs and a single for four RBIs for TayGray. Joey Bianco homered and singled for three RBIs, and Amber DeStaven hit two singles. Neil Washington also hit a home run.

Cody Maddox led Bradley with three singles for an RBI. Rita Cummins and Corey Griffith each hit two singles for an RBI.
