Little League registration is now open

Registration is now open for youth wishing to play in the Destin Little League Association for the 2019 season.

Youth can register in person at the Destin Community Center from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 12 and 19 or Jan. 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Dalton Threadgill Little League Park.

Cost is $75 for T-ball and Coach Pitch, and $50 for an additional child.

Cost for Minor League and above is $100 plus $75 for an additional child.

Ages for the various divisions are as follows: T-Ball, ages 4-5; Coach Pitch baseball, age 5-6; Machine Pitch baseball, ages 7-8; Kid Pitch baseball, ages 9-10; Majors baseball, ages 11-12; Juniors baseball, ages 12-14; Machine Pitch softball, ages 6-9; and Majors softball, ages 9-12.

Player evaluations are scheduled to begin Jan. 28 and go through Feb. 1.

Opening day is set for March 2 with the first games set to play March 4.

Destin Little League is not run by the city of Destin and is a 100 percent volunteer-run organization that provides a place for children in the community to play.
