Pinfish Grand Nationals

The eighth annual Bluewater Bay Marina Pinfish Grand Nationals will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 3 at the Bluewater Bay Marina Complex.

There will be an anglers meeting at 9:45 a.m. before the tournament. Awards will be given for first, second and third places and also the Abram Sitcer Big Fish Award. Goody bags will be given to all registered teams and Junior Fisherman receives tournament shirts.

Early registration is $25, late registration (Aug. 3) is $30. Bluewater Bay Marina will be donating portions of the proceeds to Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance and the Ronald McDonald House.

Men’s Softball League

The city of Destin’s Men’s Recreation Softball League will begin on Sept. 10.

A mandatory team captains’ meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Destin Community Center. Space is limited to the first 16 teams to register. Team fee is $300 and must be paid before a team is placed on the schedule. The last day to register a team is Sept. 5. Individual fees are $40 with a $20 discount offered to Destin residents (proof of residency required). All players must be 17 to participate and individual fees must be paid before a player is eligible to play.

Adult Flag Football will begin on Sept. 11 at the Morgan Sports Center.

Youth Flag Football

The city of Destin will be offering a Flag Football program for youth ages 6-13 (as of Aug. 1, 2019) starting this fall.

A birth certificate is required with registration. Fee is $95 for non-residents and $65 for Destin residents. Registration can be completed in person at the Destin Community Center Monday through Friday. Space is limited.

Youth Fall Soccer

Youth Fall Soccer registration is June 10-Aug. 9, for children ages 3-15.

The fee is $45 for residents and $65 for non-residents. All games are held on Friday nights at the Morgan Sports Center. Registration can be completed online at www.cityofdestin.com or in person at the Destin Community Center Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Space is limited, so early registration is recommended. Coaches and team sponsors are needed.

Men’s 3 on 3 Open Basketball

The Destin Community Center will have adult, 3 on 3 open gym basketball every Tuesday from 5:30-9 p.m.

Cost is $3 for non-residents and $2 for year-round Destin residents.

Senior Walking Club

Join the Destin Senior Members for a walk around the Destin Community Center’s gymnasium on Monday-Friday from 8-9 a.m. All of the miles that you walk will be added to our “team map” as we travel from one region to the next.

The team’s miles are reported on the fourth Friday of each month at the Destin Senior Membership’s Potluck.
