Subway sinks Wild Willy’s in youth basketball

Carter McIlwain fired up the nets for 31 points to lead Subway in a 59-25 win over Wild Willy’s in the 12-16 age division of the city of Destin’s Youth Basketball League played at the Destin Community Center.

McIlwain scored 19 points in the first half and then dumped in 12 more in the second half.

At the half, Subway led 32-10.

Others scoring for Subway were Eason Ingram with nine points; Wyatt Wainwright, eight; Garret Figar, four; Dalton Taylor, three; Eisley Ingram and Kylianne Winters, two each.

Will Kueny tossed in 13 points to lead Wild Willy’s. Ethan Ramsey scored five and Jayden Ricca three. Scoring two each were Mathew Benkosky and Aiden Garza.

In other 12-16 action:

Bubba Gump 46, DKM Custom Homes 27

Bubba Gump jumped out to a 22-9 lead in the first half.

Elijah Davis was top scorer for Bubba with 17 points. Scoring 10 each were Fisher Baltzell and Armin Jusis. Brandon Conk scored seven and Kace Gould, two.

Alex Kruse led DKM with 14 points. Charlie Guillory scored six and Isaac Singer hit for three. Scoring two each were Ian Thomas and Zac Thomas.

Bubba Gump 49, Wild Willy’s 24

Scoring in double-digits for Bubba Gump were Fisher Baltzell with 18 points and Elijah Davis with 14. Kace Gould hit for eight, Armin Jusis, seven and Cooper Hall, two.

Leading Wild Willy’s was Will Kueny with 11 points. Bardy Kelley scored five, while Aiden Garza and Ethan Ramsey each scored four.

Subway 49, Crocker Brothers Painting 13

Carter McIlwain was tops for Subway with 19 points. Wyatt Wainwright scored 10 and Hunter Barber scored nine. Greyson Sommerville scored five, Eason Ingram hit for four and Kylianne Winters made two.

Christian Erlich scored six for Crocker. Robert Pankratz hit for four points and Gunnar Smith, three.
