HarborWalk Marina cracks out win over Emerald Coast Chiropractic

HarborWalk Marina came from behind to beat Emerald Coast Chiropractic in the first round of the Coed Softball Division II Tournament at Morgan Sports Center in Destin.

Down 9-6 at the end of three innings, HarborWalk put one on the board in the fourth and then seven in the fifth to take the lead 14-9. Chiropractic closed it down to a two-run game in the bottom half with three runs.

With time running out, HarborWalk put another seven runs on the board in the top of the sixth for a 21-12 advantage.

Not giving up, Chiropractic put up five runs before being put out.

Travis Holland led HarborWalk with a triple, double and two singles for three RBIs. Brian Martinez clobbered two home runs and Jane Blanken hit two singles.

Evan Groth led Chiropractic with three doubles and a single. Don Edwards connected for two doubles and a single and Beth Henry hit two singles. Lee Pardue cranked out a home run for three RBIs.

Games scheduled for round two in the tournament are Ace in the Hole vs. Emerald Coast Chiropractic at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 8 and Team Boggy vs. My Pho King Dumplings at 8 p.m. Jan. 8.

Coed Division III Tournament

Due to cold temps, there were a couple of forfeits in Division III play.

Up next in this tournament is a 6:30 p.m. game on Jan. 8 between Stanley Security and Tripshock. Fender Collisions will play Philip Cryar Marine at 8 p.m.

Coed Division IV Tournament

No games were played due to forfeits.

Up next will be Oceans Church vs. Advanced Concrete at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 8. The winner will play Emerald Coast Kayaks at 8 p.m.
