It's not that folks don't catch bonito and lane snapper; they are just not usually considered prize fish.

But when it comes to fishing the Destin Fishing Rodeo, just about every species of fish counts.

Here's a look at just couple of fish that made the leaderboard this week in the Destin Fishing Rodeo.

Henk DeGraaf of North Carolina landed this 16.6-pound bonito while fishing with Capt. Mike Eller on the Lady Em on Tuesday. His catch found a first place spot on the leaderboard of the Destin Fishing Rodeo. Also pictured is Miss Destin Lauren Adams.
Beata Taurina of Illinois, right, shows off her 3.4-pound lane snapper she caught while fishing aboard the New Florida Girl's American Spirit on Tuesday. Her catch put her in second place on the leaderboard in the Reef Division. Wishing her well is Miss Destin Lauren Adams.
Andrew Collins landed this triple tail on Day 1 of the Destin Fishing Rodeo. Collins, of Kentucky, was fishing with Capt. Judah Barbee on the Stelluna when he pulled in this 7.4 pounder that found a first place spot on the leaderboard. Also pictured is Miss Destin Lauren Adams.
