Destin High boys' tennis makes clean sweep on Freeport

The Destin High Shark boy's tennis team made a clean 7-0 sweep over the Freeport Bulldogs on the tennis courts in Freeport March 16. 

For some of the Sharks it was their first singles victory as well as doubles win. 

Destin's Eisley Ingram, the Sharks No. 1 seed, won his singles match against Freeport's Tommy Dunn, 8-3.

Number 4 player Dustin Gates captured his first singles win, 8-1, over Freeport’s Logan Odom. Destin’s No. 5 seed, Rokky Rich defeated Jacob Gibson, 8-6.

Destin’s No. 1 player Eisley Ingram beat Tommy Dunn, 8-3, while No. 2 player Gates Chipser put Landon Harvey away 8-1. Destin’s No. 3, Ryan Hebert, captured an 8-5 win over Addie Dunn.

As for doubles play, Eisley and Chipser combined for a 6-0 win and Hebert and Kolar Bell teamed up for a 7-5 victory for the Sharks. 

In the girl's competition, Destin lost 4-3.  

Destin's Hannah Brand won her singles match 8-4 over Freeport.

In singles, Destin No. 1 Isabella Grzebrelvch won 8-2. Brianna Wolfle in the No. 2 spot won 8-4. Hannah Brand, No. 4 player, got the third win for Destin 8-4.  

The Sharks No. 3 player, Michaela Piensipp, lost 8-4. 

In doubles play, Wolfle and Piensipp lost 6-4. 

The game scheduled for Friday March 18 was canceled due to weather.
