One of the big money winners was Mark Underdahl who broke a rodeo record this year with a 111.6-pound amberjack caught on the Strange Brew with Capt. Kenny Nettles. He received a $500 gift card for breaking the 106.9-pound record. Underdahl’s catch also took first place in the 25-foot and under boat division, and brought in $3,000 for winning the AJ’s AJ Bonus Awards. Standing from left are Underdahl, Miss Destin Callie Kaltz and Capt. Nettles.

The 64th annual Destin Fishing Rodeo came to a close on Oct. 31 with 325 boats bringing in 1,067 fish for the month long tradition. Saturday evening at AJ’s Seafood and Oyster Bar, anglers and captains were rewarded for their catches that lasted on the leaderboard for the entire month. Trophies, gift cards and even checks were given to those who held their own on the board.
