ECBC: In search of big blue

Capt. Lee Guerrera of Fish Tales makes some last minute checks on the boat before they headed out Thursday afternoon. Guerrera said he fished offshore last weekend and it was a bit rough, although he's hoping for a better weekend. Fish Tales has entered the tournament for three years.

Seventy boats pulled out Thursday afternoon in search of big blue in the Emerald Coast Blue Marlin Classic at Baytowne Marina in Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.

Fishing days were Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday. Spectators will get a chance from 4-10 p.m. Saturday to see some of the bounty from the days at sea.

Target species include blue marlin, white marlin, sailfish, spearfish, tuna, dolphin and wahoo.
