America's Boating Course 3 offered

A one day, eight-hour public boating course, entitled America's Boating Course 3 will be held 8:15 a.m., July 13, at the campus of the University of West Florida in Fort Walton Beach. 

The course, conducted by experienced local boaters, covers safe boat handling, good seamanship practices, rules of the road, aids to navigation and piloting, tips about local waters, and more. Completion of the course satisfies state license requirements for boaters and may entitle boat owners to a discount on boat insurance.

The course is sponsored by the Fort Walton Sail and Power Squadron, a unit of the United States Power Squadrons. There is no charge for instruction, but there is a fee for materials, which can be shared. Discount coupons from boating outlets will be honored.
