Nate Ramsey of Illinois, a first-time Destiny fisherman, shows off a big triggerfish he landed. "I had a great time," he said. Ramsey also pulled in a few mingo and white snapper.

The party boat Destiny ventured out Wednesday for a six-hour fishing trip.

Fishing was a struggle on Wednesday, Capt. Chris McConnell said.

"They were there, they just won’t bite," McConnell said, adding that he saw them on the fish finder. "For the way it looks, we should be smashing them. I don't know if the water is too cold or what."

Nevertheless, the more than 25 anglers brought in a mix of red snapper, mingo, white snapper and triggerfish.
