Josephine La Neve

Josephine La Neve, 89, passed from this life to her final resting place on Feb. 21, 2014.

Born in Los Angeles, Calif., due to her father’s business the family moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. in the 1940’s. Josephine was one of a family of 11 brothers and sisters and was the only surviving member of her family.

Josephine moved to Destin from Brooklyn 10 years ago after the loss of her husband, Vito LaNeve, to be near her children. However, a very independent women she lived by herself and handled everything on her own until a couple of months ago.

Josephine is survived by her children, Carol Annino, Victor LaNeve and Dominick la Neve. Josephine had a love and passion for the movie star gossip and was an avid follower of all the celebrities. Josephine’s favorite pastime was to follow all of the latest scoop and scandals and watch all the old movie classics on the TV.

Josephine loved to share her stories of her childhood with anyone who was willing to listen and often bragged about growing up and hanging out with her seven brothers. The stories, which were extremely funny, were quite unique and would make everyone laugh because they really happened.

A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Feb. 24 at Trahan Family Funeral Services, 419 Yoakam Court in Pensacola.
