Under partly cloudy skies, there is a light chop on the water at the Okaloosa Island Pier Tuesday morning. In the last few days anglers have reeled in squid, Spanish mackerel, sheepshead and bluefish. Other species showing up include pompano, blackdrum and flounder. Try shrimp or sand fleas to lure in the pompano. Cobia fishing along the beach should be heating up just any day as the water continues to get warmer.

Reports of redfish, sheepshead and trout are coming in from those fishing in the bay and around the bridges. Try fiddler crabs or live shrimp to lure in those redfish and sheepshead. Speckled trout are biting around the docks at night on live shrimp.

Mingo, triggerfish and white snapper are filling up the racks on those out bottom fishing. Cut squid and Boston mackerel work well for bait on the natural bottom. Red grouper, amberjack and black snapper are also showing up. Offshore near the rigs, anglers are hooking up with a few yellowfin tuna and occasional swordfish.
