Pier/Surf

Under cloudy skies and the wind blowing out of the north, the water is choppy and clean with a 1-2 foot wave rolling in at the Okaloosa Island Pier Tuesday morning. In the last few days anglers have been catching pompano and sheepshead.

Inshore/Bay

Sheepshead is still the hot ticket with many to be found around the bridges and jetties. Try using an oyster, live shrimp or fiddler crab. The redfish bite is also good right now with anglers reeling in some big bull reds back in the bay. Look for the diving birds and try pulling a Mann's Stretch 25+ or Spool Tek swim bait lure. There are also reports of schools of redfish back in the bayous, look for the dark muddy bottom.

Offshore/Bottom

The temperature has been going up and down, and so has the bite. Anglers out bottom fishing are pulling in amberjack, mingo, white snapper, amberine, red snapper, black snapper, and lane snapper. No reports from offshore.
