Jackacuda's Rod and Reel Report

Pier/Surf
Under sunny skies, the water was flat and clean with a little bit of grass in areas at the Okaloosa Island Pier on Monday. In the last few days anglers have been hooking up with tarpon, hardtail, redfish, bluefish, flounder, ladyfish and whiting.
Inshore/Bay
Redfish and speckled trout are still showing up. Redfish are still biting near the bridge and back in the bayous as well as few black drum. As for trout, they are showing up near the Coast Guard station, around the grass flats and in the bayous. You might even want to try fishing around the docks in the evening for trout.
Offshore/Bottom
Red snapper came to a close in federal waters on Tuesday, but anglers caught them while they could. Not to fret, there are still plenty of fish to be caught on those bottom trips such as mingo, white snapper, lane snapper, black snapper, scamp and grouper. Trolling for king mackerel is always good as well. As for offshore fishing, no recent reports.
